Michael Edgerley is an MSD Report Writer in its ROD (Review of Decision) Team. The ROD Team processes statutory applications for reviews of MSD decisions. The application and review process is defined in section 391 of the Social Security Act 2018.
On 25 November 2025, Michael Edgerley emailed me saying MSD had received my statutory application for a review, attaching a formal letter acknowledging receipt.
The email and letter came as a bolt from the blue. I hadn't applied for anything. I emailed back saying I hadn't applied. Michael Edgerley received my email. The review continued falsely in my name.
MSD had a policy saying a person could withdraw their application for review by asking in writing. I hadn't applied, but when I disavowed authorship MSD should have stopped the review. MSD didn't. The review continued.
Then MSD told me I had applied for review of a 2017 decision MSD made 8 years ago. The Act (then the Social Security Act 1964) allowed 3 months to apply for review. An extension could be granted, but none had been applied for or granted. The clock had run out in October 2017.
